June 1.   Small ( minor) massacre of Sikhs by Mughal forces led by Diwan Lakhpat Rai in 1746 A.D. in the Swampy area of Kahnuwan. About 10,000 Sikhs were killed on a single day.

June 2.   Maharaja Ranjit Singh annexed Multan to his Kingdom after the conquest of Multan Fort in 1818 A.D.

June 3.   Punjab was put under curfew and handed over to the Army in 1984. As a result of operation Blue Star by the army in Golden Temple Complex, Amritsar, thousands of innocent Sikh pilgrims killed.

June 4.   Heavy gun fire by armed forces on Golden Temple precincts continued .

June 5.   The Army launched attack on Akal Takht near Golden Temple, Amritsar from the evening of 5th June, 1984 with Commandos, tanks and heavy artillary fire Causing hundred of bullet marks on Golden Temple, very heavy damage to Akal Takht and killing thousands of Sikhs in the operation. Religious programme and Kirtan in Golden Temple interrupted.

June 6.   Army attack continued setting Darshni Deorhi, Sikh Reference Library, Teja Singh Samundri Hall and other buildings on fire. Thousands of inmates, including top Sikh leaders were taken in to custody and tortured. Precious articles of momento kept in Toshkhana, rare historical reference books and manuscripts were destroyed in fire. Besides 37 other important gurdwaras were attacked simultaneously.

June 7.   First battle at Lohgarh, Amritsar with Moghul forces fought and won by sixth Guru Hargobind Sahib ji in 1628 A.D.

June 8.   Guru Gobind Singh ji helped Bahadur Shah in the battle for succession to Delhi throne near Agra in 1707 A.D. Bahadur Shah won the battle and became King after the death of King Aurangzeb.

June 9.   Baba Banda Singh ji Bahadur along with his infant son Ajit Singh and a few selected followers was done to death mercilessly at Mehrauli (Delhi) by the order of Emperor Faruk Sayyar in A.D. 1716.

June 10.   Hukamnama was issued from Akal Takht, Amritsar against Nirankaris who were indulging in anti Sikh activities in 1978 A.D.

June 11.   S. Davinder Singh Garcha, a Congress leader resigned from Congress and his seat as member of Parliament in 1984 in protest against attack by the army on Akal Takhat Amritsair.

June 12.   Severe Lathi charge on peace ful demonstration of sikhs near Gurdwara Sis Ganj, Chandni Chowk Delhi in support of Punjabi Linguistic state killing sikh leader Harbans Singh in 1960 A.D.

June 13.   Hukamnama issued by Akal Takhat, Amritsar in 1939 A.D. for giving equal treatment to sikh belonging to low castes.

June 14.   Dr. Ganda Singh, a prominent sikh historian returned "Padam Shree" award as a protest against army attack on Akal Takhat, Amritsar in 1984.

June 15.   Foundation stone of Akal Takhat, near Golden Temple, Amritsar was laid by Guru Har gobind Sahib Ji in 1609 A.D.

June 16.   S. Sadhu Singh ' Hamdard' Editor of daily newspaper Ajit, returned "Padam Shree" award as a protest against army attack on Akal Takhat, Amritsar in 1984.

June 17.   Bhai Sahib Singh ji, one of the five Pyaras(beloved) who were baptised for the first time on the Baisakhi day of 1699, was born on this day in 1662 A.D. at Bidar (Karnatka). He attained martyrdom in the battle of Chamkaur Sahib in 1704 A.D.

June 18.   Constructron of Amritsar town started by Guru Ram Dass Ji in 1573 A.D.

June 19.   Advent (Birth day) of Guru Hargobind Ji (Sixth Guru) in 1595 A.D. at Wadali near Amritsar.

June 20.   S. Harminder Singh Ji Khalsa I.F.S., Indian Ambassador to Norway resigned from his post in 1984 as a protest against attack on Akal Takhat, Amritsar by Indian army.

June 21.   As a result of pressure exerted by Five head priests, the Central govermnet opened Gurdwaras of Punjab (except Golden Temple Complex, Amritsar) for Sikhs in 1984.

June 22.   S. Harbhajan Singh Deol, member Punjab Public Service Commission resigned his post in 1984 as a protest against attack on Akal Takhat Amritsar by Indian Army.

June 23.   Indira Gandhi, the then Indian Prime Minister visited Golden Temple Amritsar in 1984, first time after Operetion Blue Star.

June 24.   First Hukamnama issued by Sixth Guru Har Gobind Sahib Ji in 1606 A.D.

June 25.   Birth of renowned Sikh Leadar Master Tara Singh in 1881 A.D.

June 26.   Encircling of Golden Temple Complex, Amritsar for search operations by Central Reserve Police in 1987.

June 27.   Five Head Priests awarded religious punishment to Dr. Pishora Singh from Akal Takht in 1994.

June 28.   Maharaja Ranjit Singh the Sikh ruler died at Lahore in 1839 A.D.

June 29.   Master Nahar Singh Ji was elected president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Amritsar in 1952.

June 30.   Raja Karam Singh became Maharaja of Patiala state in 1813 AD.
